This Outreach has always been part of our Sisters’ ministry over the years, especially with those living and working in small rural communities. Here they have been a source of great strength and inspiration supporting families in times of need e.g., drought, loneliness, tragedy and of course their celebrations.
Over the years the Congregation has strengthened and extended the ministry of rural support to work intentionally with rural/remote farming families and their communities.
The Sisters have provided an active, caring and supportive presence amongst rural people. This was done through home visits, drought relief programs, community capacity building projects, opportunities for exploring and deepening spirituality and a home-based rural counselling service.
This Ministry has now been transitioned to another service, financed by the Sisters which allows for the support to rural families and communities to continue.
A Presentation Co-Member is working with Red Cross Emergency Services who go out to support rural communities in times of fires and floods.
